DIESEL MECHANIC

American Fence Company is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team of industry professionals in our LaVista, NE location. This position requires weekday travel with overnight stays approximately one week per month. The candidate must provide their own tools adequate to perform job functions and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• $32 - $37 an hour starting wage

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, braking systems, and exhausts
• Complete routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and service trucks
• Run diagnostic testing and analyze results
• Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and equipment
• Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs
• Maintain safe and clean work area

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess minimum 3-5 years’ experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel and gas engines in light duty pickups to Class 8 trucks
• Proficiently repair hydraulic and air brakes, fuel systems, etc.
• Competently perform in-frame repairs and overhaul rebuilds
• Must provide own tools
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
